AESTHETICS

Orleans Chapter 160 – The performance standard for aesthetics in wetlands, related water resources and adjoining land areas specifies that placement of buildings, structures or parking facilities shall not detract from the site’s scenic qualities and shall blend with the natural landscape. Also, in those areas, building sites should be kept away from the crest of hills, and foundations should be constructed to reflect the natural terrain.

Note (RN) The regulations also refer to the aesthetics of a natural shoreline. § 196A-7. Buffer zone and buffer strip (A) (3)
