==== The Alignment Table ====

The alignment table (also known as the panel table) is the master list of all entities to be audited.  For example in a retail store auditing program the alignment table would include all of the stores.  The alignment table serves as the source of entities to be assigned to a particular audit. 

Each workgroup area is limited to one master alignment table that can be shared across multiple audits. From time to time there may be a need to run an audit using a different set of entities than those that are included in the master alignment table.  In that case, a project-based alignment table can be created and used. The only significant difference between using the master alignment table (workgroup level) vs a project-based alignment table is that the project-based table cannot be shared across multiple projects.

The base configuration of the alignment table includes a number of standard fields (name, company, email, telephone, language...) and fifty custom definable fields.  The number of custom fields can be increased as required from time to time. 

The alignment table is often used to facilitate rolling up individual records at multiple levels.  For example a retail store application may have stores rolling up to branch, district, region, zone and chain.
